Multiple wildfires are burning Sunday in the forest outside Mapleton, bringing mandatory evacuation orders to the area, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.
The cluster of wildfires is being called the Sweet Creek Milepost 2 Fire, officials with the Oregon Department of Forestry said.
Mandatory evacuations — level 3 — have been issued for residents of Hadsell Creek Road. A level 2 evacuation warning — meaning "get set to go" — has been issued for Sweet Creek Road residents.
Sweet Creek Road, which leads to a popular waterfall hike and recreation area, also is closed.
Sunday evening, the fire was burning uphill and away from Mapleton, officials said.

The fire was reported as two of three different blazes in the afternoon, was being managed as one wildfire by evening, officials said.
"At least six aircraft and more than half a dozen fire engines have been attacking the fire since it was reported Sunday afternoon," officials said.
Two helicopters, two air tankers and two single-engine air tankers were engaged on the fire into early evening, ODF said.

Sunday evening the fire was reported burning uphill and away from Mapleton, officials said.
Earlier reports indicated that there originally was one 1-acre fire and another 4-acre fire.
