Elected and Appointed

Pennsylvania labor, employment and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson announced that Philadelphia and Chicago-based partner Stuart W. Davidson is set to serve as a co-chair of the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy advisory board.

In 2018, Davidson joined the advisory board of LAANE.

In 2019, he was honored at the organization’s City of Justice Awards in Los Angeles, which recognizes leaders who help to improve the lives of working people.

Davidson joins LAANE advisory committee co-chairs Julie Gutman Dickinson, partner at Bush Gottlieb, and Scott Pascucci, chief executive officer at Concord.

Davidson represents public and private benefit funds, fighting to preserve the ability of workers to retire and have access to affordable health care.

His work for unions includes leading contract negotiations, presenting interest and grievance arbitrations and advising on external and internal union matters.

Davidson serves as chief counsel to large regional and local unions along the East Coast and the Gulf Coast and in the Chicago area.

LAANE is an advocacy organization dedicated to building a new economy for all.

Combining research, public policy and strategic organizing of alliances, LAANE promotes a new economic approach based on jobs, communities and a healthy environment.

Announcements

The first private law practice in Pennsylvania dedicated entirely to education law, Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams, is celebrating its 25th year in practice.

The firm was founded June 1, 1995 when nine attorneys left a larger firm to start a new firm dedicated solely to education law.

Sweet Stevens provides services across Pennsylvania and surrounding regions through three offices in Bucks, Dauphin and Luzerne Counties.

The firm represents schools, school districts, vocational/technical schools, intermediate units and municipal entities in more than 50 counties throughout Pennsylvania.

Several attorneys also are licensed in New Jersey, including one who previously worked for the New Jersey Department of Education.

The attorneys of Sweet Stevens work in areas of civil rights defense, educational technology, labor/employment matters and investigations, special education, student services, tax appeals, and more.
