SAN BENITO COUNTY – Crews are battling a fast-moving fire south of Paicines in San Benito County.
The blaze, dubbed the Bitter Fire, was reported near Highway 25 and Coalinga-Hernandez Road about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
As of about 5:20 p.m., the fire had scorched roughly 500 acres and was just 10 percent contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
