The perfect folky evening awaits with Bitter Pill featuring special guests The Double Crossers at Hippy Hollow in Greenville on Saturday, July 10 at 5 p.m.
NH Magazine describes Bitter Pill as “Smart, dramatic, visual, evocative compositions that cross genres and casts shades of Tom Waits and Shane MacGowen.”
“Hosting Bitter Pill at Hippy Hollow is a dream come into reality for me,” said Kate Schimke, founder of the Hippy Hollow music community and low key, but popular house concerts. “My husband Aaron and I live on about 100 acres of shared land. We are unique in that you have to park your car and walk through a forest to get to our cabin and stage. We feel it’s our life’s purpose to utilize our space to support and celebrate artists and musicians. To offer an intimate and non intimidating environment to showcase and share their talents directly with the local community. We have been hosting and sometimes recording live house concerts for seven years now. Our house concerts are donation based and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the artists.
“Bitter Pill was an act I saw several years ago in Portsmouth. I knew after seeing them perform that they would be a perfect fit for our forest stage and a sheer delight to share with our community. My favorite part about what we do is to offer something different, to intimately showcase artists you wouldn’t typically see at other local venues. Bitter Pill is incredibly unique, talented and a must see act. Pairing them with local Folky, foot-stomping favorites, The Double Crossers, I feel as though our location in the woods of NH is a perfect fit for the vibe.”
You will not see Hippy Hollow from the street. You will follow an 800-foot path through the woods. There is limited seating, but plenty of lawn space. If you are able, you are welcome to bring a blanket/folding chairs. It’s suggested you bring bug spray, good vibes, sunscreen, water, bubbles, a friend, cash cause there will be merch, snacks, hula hoops, BYOB in moderation. There is a carry in, carry out trash policy.
Hippy Hollow is located at 694 Darling Hill Road in Greenville. There is a suggested $10 donation.
