STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Two teenage boys were shot after a fight broke out at a party in Mariners Harbor Friday evening, an NYPD spokesman told the Advance/SILive.com.
The two 16-year-old boys were attending a party at 339 Harbor Rd. when shots were fired around 11:03 p.m., NYPD said.
The party appeared to be a Sweet 16 party, with decorations reading “Sweet 16 Happy Birthday” and numbered balloons reading “16.”
One of the boys suffered a gunshot to the chest, and the other sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, authorities said.

Both teenagers were transported to Richmond University Medical Center, NYPD told the Advance/SILive.com.
As of Saturday morning, both boys are in stable condition, according to the police.
The spokesperson explained that the shooter fled the scene and no suspects have been identified.
An investigation remains ongoing, according to NYPD.
