SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – For the third straight year, Juls Sweet '21 of the Union College women's golf team was recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association as an All-American Scholar for the 2020-21 school year, the WGCA announced recently.
Sweet earned the prestigious national honor for the third year in a row, making her the first player in program history to earn the honor three times during her career. The award criteria is one of the most stringent in college athletics, requiring student-athletes to have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.
Sweet played in all five rounds during the abbreviated spring season, ranking fourth on the team by averaging 92.0 strokes per round during her senior year. She closed out her career with a seventh-place result at the Liberty League Championships, and ended her time in Schenectady eighth all-time in career scoring in 41 rounds.
Off the course, Sweet was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa as a senior and also served as a Resident Advisor and was a member of the Scholar's Program Steering Committee.
