The Tuxedo Corn Co., founded in Olathe, is in its 35th year of production. Company farmer David Harold said this year’s efforts will produce an estimated 750,000 boxes of the Tuxedo’s trademark “Olathe Sweet” sweet corn. At 48 ears per box, that calculates to 36 million ears of corn headed to consumers. The first truck leaves the field at 6:37 a.m., bound for Tuxedo’s production facility where the ears are iced and put on trucks bound for supermarkets across Colorado and beyond. Tuxedo ships to 30 states across the country reaching supermarkets in Fairfax, Virginia and Anchorage, Alaska. Photos Special to The Denver Post / William Woody
