“Sweet Melody” stood tall on the Official U.K. Singles Chart last Friday as the only non-Christmas themed song in the Top 10. With the yuletide hits all tumbling down the charts, this Friday’s (Jan. 8) survey should feature some regular faces. Ed Sheeran’s “Afterglow” lifts 13-2 on the First Look survey, while Justin Bieber could snag the week’s highest new entry with “Anyone,” new at No. 12.
Nothing is set at stone. At this point in the chart week, according to the OCC, less than 2,000 units separate the Top 5 singles.
