Suspicious situation: Parade Street
An elderly woman called police at 3:48 a.m. May 5. She said she had just seen a dead body in her car. Police arrived and could not locate anything -- including the body -- indicating any suspicious activity.
It was determined that the woman’s reporting was based on a dream she had. Police found that everything was OK.
Car crash: Columbia Road
Police went to a location where a car had struck a telephone pole at 7 p.m. May 2. They found the car and a man sitting in a lawn chair next to it. Residents were helping the man.
Officers found two open containers of beer inside the car while investigating the crash. Paramedics transported the man to the hospital for injuries he sustained. The 50-year-old Cleveland man was cited for operating a car while intoxicated, failure to maintain reasonable control and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
Gunshots: Lewis Road
Police investigated several complaints of people hearing multiple gunshots. They went to that area and determined that the shots were coming from a gun range located in the Cleveland Metroparks.
Reported Board of Health violation: Wayside Drive
Police went to a home near the soccer fields in reference to people gathering and listening to music. The officers saw that the people were observing health guidelines regarding social distancing due to the coronavirus outbreak. They were advised to turn down the music. They did. The officers left.
