Winter mix tonight followed by bitter cold - WSIL TV

gemblongsa.blogspot.com

CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- It was a cloudy mostly dry day but this evening the chance for a winter mix will increase.

Light showers have already started to push across southeast Missouri and into southern Illinois. The chance for showers will continue to spread through the region tonight followed by much colder air.

The colder air will allow for the rain to transition into snow. An inch to two inches of snow will be possible overnight. Accumulation will likely be on grassy and elevated surfaces, however, slick spots cannot be ruled out late tonight and into Sunday morning.

Snow is expected to end before daybreak but game day is looking COLD. Low's will dip into the teens tomorrow morning with wind chill values in the single digits. Bundle up! Afternoon highs won't be much warmer, topping out in the 20s.

Meteorologist Jacie Brianne will be tracking the snow tonight on News 3, stay tuned for updates.
