WEST FRANKFORT (WSIL)-- Crews worked all day Tuesday to repair a water main break.
It happened early in the morning, around 6 in West Frankfort.
The break was along 9th street and rural residents east of 9th street were affected, particularly those in Thompsonville.

The Rend Lake Conservatory District's General Manager, Keith Thomson said the pipe that burst was scheduled to be replaced.
"This area is actually scheduled for a complete replacement of that pipe in the next few months. And so, if it would have held on just a little longer, we would have had a new pipe in this area, that broke today," said Thomson.
That water main was repaired late Tuesday afternoon.
The Rend Lake Conservatory district thanks the workers for braving the cold temperatures, so the affected residents could get their water back on.
