STRAFFORD, VT — Jackson Avery Sweet was born on September 11, 1997 to his loving parents, David and Danielle (Boyd) Sweet. Everyone called him Jack. He began his life in Vershire, Vermont across the road from his grandparents, Steve and Gina Boyd who gave Jack a home away from home. Later, Jack and his family moved to Strafford, where they reside today. Jack was a beloved son, big brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and teammate. Jack loved to snowmachine, compete in snowmobile racing and play baseball and softball. But his favorite thing was hunting and fishing with his little brother and his dad. Whatever he did, his brother, parents, grandparents, and uncles were there to cheer him on. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the camp in Derby as well as vacations to the Cape and Culebra especially with his younger brother, Jesse whom he adored and had a close relationship with. He had a huge group of friends with whom he made many memories.

Jack attended Caring Community Preschool, Westshire Elementary School, Wellspring in Chelsea, Thetford Academy and Riverbend Technical Center. He graduated in 2016. Jack attended Paul Smith College before joining his dad in the family business as a carpenter. He worked alongside his dad and together they created beautiful homes throughout the Upper Valley. Jesse joined them on school vacations and made it a real family business.

Jack's struggles with depression grew as the years went by which ultimately resulted in him ending his own life Sunday, August 30, 2020. We encourage you to reach out if you or a loved one needs help. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jack's name to the Clara Martin Center, P.O. Box 278, Bradford, VT 05033

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 PM at Dani and Dave's house at 374 Justin Morrill Memorial Highway in Strafford, Vermont. In honor of Jack, please dress casually and bring a photo and story to share for this outdoor celebration of his life.
