This weekend has two weather situations. There will be an area of snowy roads. There will also be a full state worth of bitter, Arctic cold.
Let’s start the weekend weather look with Friday, since there is precipitation on the day you may be traveling to your weekend destination.
Here is the radar forecast from Friday into late Saturday. Sunday will be dry with the exception of a possible few hour burst of isolated lake effect.

Friday will have a burst of snow move across Michigan as the strong Arctic front blows through. By Friday night into Saturday, you see the radar forecast take the shape of completely lake-effect snow.
The Friday snow will just be burst-type snow that could come down hard at any location for a half-hour to an hour. The lake-effect is where the snow will pile up Friday night and Saturday.
Total snow forecast for Friday, February 11 to Saturday February 12.
I’d call it a 2 to 5-inch snow from the Traverse City area south through the entire area to Grand Rapids and far southwest Lower Michigan. Eastern Lower Michigan will only have an inch or two of snow sometime Friday.
Now we look at the cold, and just how cold. Sunday morning at sunrise will have the coldest temperatures.

High temperature forecast for Saturday, February 12.
Sunday morning forecast low temperatures
Forecast high temperature for Sunday afternoon.
I guess all we need to know about this weekend’s temperatures is it will be cold everywhere and all the time.
Watch for snowy roads across the western third of Lower Michigan due to the Friday and Saturday lake-effect. The east side of Michigan should have any major winter driving snow issues. Your heater better work well though.
