On Saturday, Jan. 29 Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge officially re-opened the Pajaro Bird Trail, which had been closed for several years. Together with the Friends of Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge, UFO Birding Club and the refuge staff, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the official opening. The trail was completely refurbished with a rebuilt bird blind, a wheelchair-accessible ramp and a new walking trail bridge. A new spotting scope was installed inside the bird blind to help the public experience bird watching. The Ribbon cutting included Friends of Bitter Lake President Meredith Hildreth, UFO Birding Club representative Steve Smith and Refuge Manager Lindsey Landowski. (Submitted Photo)
