It’s been nearly one full year since Netflix first took us to Serenity, S.C., and the wait for Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias is far from over.
Based on Sherryl Woods’ Sweet Magnolias books, the drama’s 10-episode first season introduced viewers to three life-long best friends — JoAnna Garcia Swisher (Reba) as divorcée Maddie Townsend, Heather Headley (Chicago Med) as attorney Helen Decatur and Brooke Elliott (Drop Dead Diva) as restaurateur/chef Dana Sue Sullivan — who finally fulfill their collective dream of opening a spa in their hometown. (And yes, that is a picture of all three actresses on set for Season 2.)
It’s exactly the kind of feel-good, escapist fare that we desperately need in this hellscape we call “reality.” So, when will we finally get to pour one out with the ladies of The Corner Spa, and what we can we expect when that blessed day comes?
