MADISON (WKOW) - The cold weather is here and we're just getting started!

A Wind Chill Advisory is in place for the region until Noon Sunday.

Lingering gusty winds dropped wind chills to 10 to 16 below zero overnight into Saturday morning.

Light powdery snow is possible across far southern Wisconsin this afternoon and evening. Most will likely see flurries.

Breezy conditions are expected today, with winds out of the west northwest coming at speeds near 10 to 15 mph.

Temperatures will continue to fall throughout the weekend.

Highs in the single digits will continue.

Most will likely wake up to the coldest air yet of the winter season, possibly ending up the coldest air of all the winter season by the end. Wind chill values will range from -20 to -30, likely closer to the -30 range.

Saturday: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy, breezy & very cold with a few PM flurries possible. High 8. Chills: -5 to -15. Wind: W 10-15.

 Tonight: Mostly to partly cloudy with flurries & very cold. Low -13. Chills: -20 to -30. Wind: NW 5-10.

Sunday: Partly sunny, a bit breezy & frigid. High 2. Wind: NW 5-10 Few flurries or little light snow possible at night.

Monday: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy & frigid with a little light snow possible. Low -9. High 6. Light snow possible.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny & frigid. Low -6. High 8.

Wednesday: Mostly to partly sunny & frigid. Low -7. High 8.

Thursday: Partly sunny & frigid. Low -10. High 5.

Friday: Partly sunny & frigid. Low -13. High 3.
