It won the game.
"It was so awesome," Lindquist said of the final kill with a big smile. "I just love my teammates so much, they made me feel so loved and supported. I couldn't ask for a better team."
In terms of records, Lindquist really couldn't.
UJ pushed it's undefeated streak to 14 straight matches with a sweep of Mount Marty University on Saturday. UJ is commanding the Great Plains Athletic Conference at 11-0, while Mount Marty remains winless in the conference at 0-13. The Lancers dropped to 5-18 overall.
"We have such a good team -- we could win nationals for sure," Lindquist said.
Lindquist was subbed into the final set with UJ leading 20-16 and was given a pair of swings on the outside in the final five points. Lindquist's game-winning line drive was shanked by the Lancer defender and smashed into the far wall of the Newman.
The Jimmies won the third 25-18 and outscored the Lancers 25-19 and 25-22 in the first two sets.
Lindquist, along with senior teammates Sydney Ellingson and Corina Huff, were honored at the beginning of the match for their dedication to the Jimmie volleyball program.
"I always say that every year you are here, the program demands more out of you," UJ head coach Jon Hegerle said of his senior trio. "They provide great leadership and they are probably the most vested in what we are doing.
"All three of them are such givers. The team just loves them and they do a great job leading them."

Huff and Ellingson were certainly doing their part to lead the Jimmies against the Lancers.
Huff racked up the third-most kills at the No. 3 spot smashing five past the Mount Marty defense. Huff has put down 95 kills off 253 attack attempts. The middle out of Breezy Point, Minnesota, has racked up more than 500 kills in her career as a Jimmie.
Ellingson tied junior Anna Holen for the most digs, popping up 11 to setters Megan Gaffaney and Jackie Meiklejohn. The second-year libero out of Langdon is leading the Jimmies with 220 of the team's 937 digs. In her Jimmie career, Ellingson has saved more than 950 balls from the hardwoods.
"We have a lot of good veteran players, Hegerle said. "They play hard for each other."
The experience of those veterans -- both seniors and not -- was on display all throughout the three sets.
UJ established an early 10-4 lead over Mount Marty to kick off the first set. The strong arms of junior right-side Kalli Hegerle and junior middle Jayla Ritter made things frustrating for the Lancers' defense.
Hegerle got seven through the Lancers' blocks, while Ritter tied Holen for the most kills in the match with nine. The duo also set up a series of rejections at the net helping to limit Mount Marty's kill leader Elizabeth Watchorn to 15 spikes off of her 34 attempts. The Jimmies ended the night with 39 balls put down for points while the Lancers only compiled 21.
There was more of the same in the second from Ritter, Hegerle and Holen -- whose kill total stands at a staggering 139 to lead the Jimmies. While the trio was working to dominate the net, the Lancers made the team work for it a little bit more in the second. Set. No. 2 saw six lead changes early before the Jimmies were able to end it with a four-point run.
"Coach Hebenstreit does a great job with what he has," Hegerle said. "They were really difficult to block and that was on purpose -- just hitting high and hitting low and hitting around the block. It kind of frustrated our blockers."

Even frustrated, the Jimmies managed to encapsulate the same spirit Lindquist said she will miss after hanging up her Jimmie uniform. The team was smiling and worked to pick each other up until the last whistle blew.
"I know I have some bigger things ahead but it does make me sad to leave these people," Lindquist said. "They've been my people for the last three years."
