Sweets-maker to the stars brings gourmet cotton candy to Galleria

A new pop-up sweets shop will bring gourmet gummies, popcorn and Peruvian chocolate to the Galleria starting on November 6. Make Your Life Sweeter is the brainchild of Yasmeen Tadia, a sweets-maker who spent eight years creating Instagram-worthy catering events for stars like Justin Timberlake and Stevie Wonder. But in the wake of the coronavirus, with fewer people and brands hosting parties. Tadia has pivoted to selling her creations directly to the public. Those treats include things like passionfruit cotton candy, margarita popcorn, Peruvian chocolate truffles and gorgeous macarons. Scope out the boutique’s menu here.

New Orleans Saints players bring juice bar to Fort Worth

A juice bar franchise co-owned by New Orleans Saints players Thomas Morstead and Marques Colston will debut in Fort Worth by the end of the year. Main Squeeze Juice Co. focuses on superfood-rich cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and berry bowls, with a gluten-free and vegan-friendly menu. The first DFW location, scheduled to open at 4560 Heritage Trace Parkway in December, is part of a big expansion for the chain, which plans to add as many as 20 stores in the Metroplex in the next few years.

Uncle Julio’s launches burrito-focused ghost restaurant in Grapevine

Savage Burrito, a new ghost restaurant operating out of Uncle Julio’s, has opened in Grapevine. The restaurant focuses on creative hand-made burritos, bowls and salads, including dishes like the Nashville Hot Chicken burrito wrapped in a Cholula tortilla, the Notorious P.I.G., with pork carnitas, black beans, roasted corn, and lime crema, and the Savage Garden, a veggie-heavy burrito loaded with avocado. Diners can also build their own dishes with a variety of made-from-scratch ingredients. Savage Burrito is available through most delivery apps, and has plans to expand to other DFW communities in the coming weeks.
