It’s been a super long time since Sweet Magnolias premiered on Netflix. Fans have been waiting since May 2020 for Sweet Magnolias season 2, but it appears that wait is almost over.
According to an interview with the author Sherryl Woods with Southern Living, Woods mentioned that Sweet Magnolias will likely arrive on Netflix in January or February 2022.
That’s great news for fans of the Netflix original series! Nothing is official until Netflix announces the release date, though.

There was some hope that Sweet Magnolias season 2 would arrive in 2022, but when production started, we learned that the season would not be released until 2022. It was one of the first confirmed Netflix shows coming in 2022.

Netflix hasn’t shared the release date for the new season, but there’s a really good chance we could find out the release date soon.
Netflix also hasn’t announced many of the January 2022 new releases, and we always get a big show during the first month of the year. We already know Ozark season 4 premieres on Jan. 21, 2022, but these shows are so different that they could be released around the same time.
For now, we’re hoping Sweet Magnolias season 2 is coming to Netflix in early January. Netflix always rolls out a big show to kick off the first month of the year. We’ve yet to hear what show that could be. This show is definitely in that conversation. How awesome would it be to see this new season on New Year’s Day?
That’s what we’re hoping for right now.
We’ve been thinking Sweet Magnolias season 2 makes perfect sense as a Valentine’s Day 2022 release. Lately, Netflix has been releasing shows and movies a little bit before the holidays to give more viewers time to watch.
Overall, I don’t think we will be waiting until February for this show. I have a feeling that we’ll see the new season in January.
