MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Senior forward Greg Adams (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) broke a scoreless tie in the 72nd minute and senior midfielder Eric Gwadz (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) tacked on the insurance goal with 1:41 left as visiting Washington College downed host Montclair State, 2-0, on Sunday evening at MSU Soccer Park in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Shoremen (15-4-1) advance to the Round of 16 and a date with Tufts next weekend. The Red Hawks end their season at 17-4-1.

How It Happened
- Montclair State had two chances in the 17th minute to take the lead on shots by Josiah Crawford. His first shot at 16:33 was saved by WC goalie Anthony Pinto and his rebound attempt was a team save as Chris Comber turned away Crawford's second opportunity.
- The game was tied 0-0 at halftime despite Montclair State holding an 8-1 edge in shots.
- Adams finally broke the tie at the 71:40 mark as he received a throw-in pass from Emanuel Kouadio and his shot from the top of the box found the upper right corner of the net to make it 1-0.
- The Red Hawks netted five shots between the goals, but could not get the equalizer.
- Gwadz would give Washington the insurance goal to make it 2-0 with 1:41 left as his shot from the left side found the lower right corner.
