In Merryn Somerset Webb’s “Gas crisis shows why we must stop demonising fossil fuels” (Opinion, FT Weekend, September 25), she mentions: “We can live without ice cream. But what of the other effects? Abattoirs are short of the gas they need to stun animals . . . ”.
I think I speak for most FT readers when I say we’d all really prefer the ice cream.
