STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Police are still searching for the shooter who fired shots into a Mariners Harbor Sweet 16 party that left two male teenagers injured on Friday night.
The two 16-year-olds who were injured were attending a party at 339 Harbor Rd. when shots were fired around 11:03 p.m., NYPD said.
One of the teenagers suffered a gunshot to the chest, and the other sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, authorities said.
Both teenagers were transported to Richmond University Medical Center and are reported to be in stable condition, said police.
The birthday girl’s mother, who chose to remain anonymous, said Saturday morning that her teenager has been emotional since the incident.
“I’m sitting here with a child who has never seen anybody get shot ever in her life,” she said.

She told the Advance/SILive.com that they don’t know who the shooter may have been, but that she believes he joined the crowd on foot.
David -- the girl’s uncle, who chose to only be referred to by his first name -- said that he was “patting down” every single person who entered the party.
“We were patting people down, and nobody was armed in the party,” David explained. “I don’t know how this could have happened. I mean, somebody had to come from outside.”

By the time David heard the shots and got to the front parking area from the backyard, he said the two injured teenagers were already on the ground.
At least 150 people were at the party, he said, so there was “no time” to see who fired the shots.
