Edna M. Sweet
IRON MOUNTAIN — Edna M. Sweet, 88, formerly of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Sheboygan Falls, Wis.
Edna was born on May 5, 1933, in Grover, Wis., daughter of the late Henry and Gladys Schuls. She grew up and went to school in Commonwealth, Wis.
On Dec. 10, 1954, she married Merle Sweet. She worked for over 20 years at Hancock Wood Products retiring at age 62. Edna enjoyed dancing to country, polka and oldies, cross stitch, watching game shows and spending time visiting with family and friends.
Edna is survived by six children: Barry Sweet, Vicki (Dan), Patty (Bob) Blome, Shawn (Joyce) Sweet, Merle Sweet and Jack (Lisa) Sweet; 10 grandchildren: Daniel (Lacey) Sweet, Chris (Charlotte) Sweet, Nicole (Stephen) Sweet-Ragan, Michael (Sarah) Sweet, Sarah (David) Weed, David (Emi) Sweet, Bob (Erin) Blome, Chanda (Nick) Pena, Joseph Sweet and Vicki Sweet; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Merle Sweet; son Arthur Sweet; sister Gloria Schuls; brother Henry Schuls; half-brother Vernon Schuls; step-sister Catherine Hannula; and a dear special friend, Dan Farrell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.
