SAGINAW, MI – Banana, pineapple, cinnamon, toasted pecans and cream cheese frosting: these are the flavors that come together to make bakery owner Rebecca Clifford’s most popular dessert.
Clifford, who owns Rebecca’s Gourmet Bakery, said “without a doubt” her hummingbird cake, a Southern confection, is the customer favorite.
“The hummingbird cake outpaces everything,” she said. “I work very hard all week just to keep that one on the counter.”
Rebecca’s Gourmet Bakery is located inside downtown Saginaw’s SVRC Marketplace, 203 S. Washington Ave.
In addition to hummingbird cake and other sweet treats, Rebecca’s Gourmet Bakery now has fresh, organic salads on the menu.
Rebecca’s gourmet salad menu features a Michigan cherry salad, made with mixed greens, dried cherries, feta, pecans and red onion, $10. There’s also Rebecca’s Favorite salad, featuring mixed greens, Mandarin oranges, grapes, quinoa, chickpeas, feta and red onion, $10.
Other lunch-worthy offerings include the Greek salad and Fruit Lover salad. Add roasted chicken to the salad of your choice for $2 more.
“They’re all doing extremely well,” Clifford said. “People are in love with them.”
Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? The bakery menu also features key lime pie, carrot cake, organic triple berry pie, apple crumb pie, molasses crinkles, vegan chocolate chip cookies, gluten-free desserts and more.
