BITTER, used to describe a depth of hatred, might have an element of truth to it. In 2016 scientists discovered that enjoying tastes such as strong coffee and broccoli may actually be associated with antisocial personality traits.
Researchers at Innsbruck University in Austria looked at self-reported data from about 950 Americans, and found that bitter taste preferences were associated with characteristics ranging from aggression to psychopathy.
The researchers commented that "the results suggest how much people like bitter-tasting foods and drinks is... tied to how dark their personality is", possibly because emotions may be formed in response to the taste of food.
So, if your enemies have these qualities, they may also enjoy bitter tastes.
