The pandemic isn’t canceling the Mendota Sweet Corn Festival but its definitely scaling it down.
The Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has decided to cancel the parade and carnival portion of this year’s festival. They say the decision is made with the safety and well-being of every festival goer at the top of their list.
The 73rd Annual Sweet Corn Festival Queen Pageant will still happen on August 7th. Organizers are still planning a 50-50 drawing and sweet corn sales. The 50-50 winner will be announced on August 9th.
