Suns picking 10th is the sweet spot in the 2020 NBA draft - Bright Side of the Sun

gemblongsa.blogspot.com

Trading the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft was a no-brainer after this upcoming free agency class seemed like a better solution. Adding depth and defense in players like Jerami Grant and Montrezl Harrell is what looked like the answer to adding another 10 wins to next season for the Suns. But can we have both? Keeping the 10th pick in what looks to be the sweet spot in the NBA draft, between starting talent and role players, it will hard to miss in this position.

Before the bubble began it was a struggle to find NBA related topics to talk about. Top ten lists including, favorite pizza toppings to the best hair on an athlete kept most of us busy and this year’s NBA draft class fought for attention but most of us were not having it. Now there seems to be pages of prospects that can help the Suns win going into the 2020-21 season.

This year’s NBA draft is definitely a turn-on. Almost endless with talent and the unknown landing spots for many of these athletes should keep the excitement flowing Wednesday, November 18th.

At #10, the Suns will be sitting below players like:

These players are projected to be taken at #9 or higher. Waiting to see if these players drop for the steal could happen. The top 9 teams will have the stress in this years draft, trying to select a game changer.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, and even the Minnesota Timberwolves (who have Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell, but need more help immediately to have any chance in the west) might be looking for this years star in the draft, and it could get messy

The Golden State Warriors, owning the 2nd pick, will likely trade to a team like the San Antonio Spurs. Giving the Spurs a chance at a needed playmaker like Killian Hayes (unless you really like Dejounte Murray) or even Deni Avdija.

The Washing Wizards picking at #6 will be looking to add to what they have in Bradley Beal and the return of John Wall.

The Suns got theirs already in Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. Let the other teams feed on each other and let us pick from what is left. In what should be a more stress free draft unlike recent years, there will be a player to fall into the Suns lap, maybe even the player they have at #1 on their big-board.

The left overs is where it gets good. From what is projected, the following players should be left on the board when the Suns are on the clock:

And the list can go on...

I am prepared to accept who the Suns choose at #10 and it will be hard for me to be upset with the talent across the board. But with my luck... the Suns will trade the pick.
