After a balmy week, it's back to reality this weekend. Mid-winter temps will return to Maine, and stick around into next week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a return of bitter cold to Maine. An arctic front will cross the state Friday night, bringing cold conditions and gusty winds. Weekend temps will dip into the mid 30s, Saturday and Sunday. Winds gusts will top out around 30 MPH at times, Friday night into Saturday.
The first half of next week features winter-like temps, around 25-30 degrees. A slight warming trend is expected Wednesday into Friday, with highs near 40. No major weather events are forecast in the coming week.
Daylight Saving Time starts Sunday morning, so don't forget to "spring ahead" the clocks one hour. Spring officially arrives March 20, at 5:37 A.M.
